William’s Fresh Floral and Garden Center opened in 2002 by William (Bill) and Debra Rawlings. Over the years they have served the Burlington area with fresh floral, home décor, indoors plants, bedding plants, trees and shrubs and much more.
Ashley helped get the building set up and ready to open. Ashley would help out here and there throughout the next several years while raising her young children. When Ashley was here we all found out that Kalyn at a very young age was the boss. She liked telling grandpa how to do things. She even had a shirt that said HR on it.
Kalyn, by about age 8, started making flower arrangements and by about age 10 was running the cash register and counting money back to the customers. She could not reach everything and had a step stool to stand on to get to the cash drawer and keyboard.
Ashley and Kalyn continued to help with Valentines, Mother’s Day and other special occasions over the next several years.
In December of 2025, when Bill had a brain bleed, Ashley stepped up to the plate with the rest of the family to keep the shop running so Deb was able to be at his bedside and then take care of him when he came home.
Bill and Deb had been wanting to sell and retire for a couple of years. Ashley talked to Bill and Deb about buying the business and keeping it in the family, she had been doing all of the day-to-day operations and her and Kalyn enjoyed designing flowers again.
Kalyn went to work on everything they would need to do on getting licenses and everything that goes into owning a flower shop and greenhouse. By the end of May, Kalyn had all the requirements met and operating licenses in hand.
July 1, 2026, papers were signed for Ashley and Kalyn to be the owners and made a slight change in the name. The name was changed to Williams Floral, Garden, and Gifts. Ashley and Kalyn as well as their family, will continue the family business and provide great products for years to come.
The store will continue to be open year-round offering everything from fresh flowers, lawn & garden essentials to unique gifts for all ages.
